Kairos Prison Ministry — October 6 – 10

Details

Start:
October 6, 2019
End:
October 10, 2019

Pastor Scott is going into Plainfield Correctional Facility October 6 -10 with the Kairos Prison Ministry. Mission offerings for September will go toward this ministry Here are ways you can support this ministry:

  1. Why Agape?

Kairos is a ministry of passing on the love of God and  Agape plays a major role in that endeavor. Agape is the love of God, delivered by God’s people. Here are distinct ways to share your love with men in prison through Kairos.

  1. Prayer – The Foundation of Agape

Prayer is the starting point for unleashing God’s agape love! Sign up in Fellowship Hall to pray during the Kairos weekend. Your prayer commitment will be on display in a paper chain for the participants to see and know the church is  praying for them.

  1. Cookies – Empowering the Community

For many Kairos communities, cookies that are lovingly and prayerfully made by the Body of Christ are a wonderful example of Agape. Kairos offers to the Christian community the opportunity to be part of the “pipeline” that will carry Christ’s living waters directly to the hearts of the    residents. You can get premade cookie dough at Gordon’s Food Service (Product # 697840) or take home a recipe. The recipe must be followed exactly as written. Bring in your

cookies, 6 cookies to a ¼ gallon ziplock (non zipper type), to the church office by Wednesday, October 5.

  1. Posters and placemats – We Are Not Alone!Posters and place mats put a face on the Body of Christ!

Perhaps for the first time ever, men will see the Body of Christ through the tangible display of posters and placements. Every one can be part of stepping into the prison through their expression of Christ’s love. Give your creative expressions of God’s love to Pastor Scott to carry into the prison by October 5. Pick up placemats to color in Fellowship Hall.

  1. Financial Support

God uses Kairos’ need for financial support as a way to empower the Body of Christ. For so many Christians, Jesus’ call to visit the prisoner is beyond imagination. Kairos opens
the door for them to be part of God’s family to visit the prisoner on behalf of Christ. A Kairos weekend costs $350 per person. Our goal is $700. Support this transformative ministry by writing a check payable to Kairos of Indiana. Deliver the check to Pastor Scott by October 5. Mission offerings for September will all go in support  of Kairos.
