Soup's On Ministry began in 1998 when the Missions Committee of Robert’s Park United Methodist Church was exploring ways to serve the surrounding neighborhood.  They discovered none of the nearby shelter ministries provided a Sunday meal.  The first Sunday Soup’s On meal served about 50 people.  This ministry served 2000 meals during the first year of operation.  Today that number has grown to 15000 meals per year.  As the number of persons served increased, so did the number of volunteers.  Several area churches and businesses became involved by providing volunteers, food and financial support.  We are thankful to God and to those persons and organizations for their gifts.

While we hope to provide much needed nutrition to persons who are homeless, or living in poverty, in the heart of Indianapolis, we welcome anyone who wishes to join us at our meals.  Our purpose is to nurture bodies and souls by providing a hot meal, a safe haven and companionship for the journey.
