Located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis and one of the city’s most renowned and beloved landmarks, Roberts Park United Methodist Church is an ideal, beautiful setting for your wedding. We welcome to our church all couples who wish to be married in the sight of God.
With stained glass windows soaring two stories on three sides and finely detailed woodworking warming the space, the sanctuary is a grand yet intimate setting for weddings. Foyers at both Delaware and Vermont Street entrances feature marble tile flooring in a classic black-and -white pattern with twin black walnut staircases leading to the sanctuary floor. The sanctuary comfortably seats 450 guests on the main floor and 275 in the balcony.
The smaller but similarly appointed original chapel, located on the first floor, can set up to 50 guests.
The sanctuary and chapel are fully accessible for guests with mobility issues. A free parking lot (95 spaces) is adjacent to the building, and metered street parking is widely available.
Music is an integral part of most weddings, and the sound of our majestic pipe organ in the sanctuary’s acoustically perfect space can be a joyful and sacred component of your wedding ceremony. The organ, originally installed in 1876 and upgraded in 1915, 1973 and 2011 has three manuals and 2,175 pipes. In the chapel, a smaller Wilhelm four-rank cabinet pipe organ lends a similar elegance to smaller wedding ceremonies. A piano is also available in both the sanctuary and the chapel.
Situated at the corner of Delaware and Vermont Streets, Roberts Park is located within a few blocks of restaurants, reception venues, and downtown Indianapolis hotels. Out-of-town guests can enjoy many nearby cultural attractions. Minutes away, sites for timeless wedding photographs are available in the urban city center, alaong picturesque waterways, and throughout a large, grassy urban mall featuring fountains and monuments.
Specific details and arrangements are managed by the Roberts Park Wedding Coordinator.
