Mission Offerings for September to Assist With Harvey Relief Efforts

By now, we have all seen the horrific images of Hurricane Harvey’s destructive path through Houston, Southeast Texas, and Southwest Louisiana, producing record-shattering rains and flooding in many communities.  Even before Harvey made landfall, UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) was working with United Methodist Church conferences to prepare resources and volunteers for the relief and recovery efforts.  UMC volunteers from these conferences are UMCOR’s feet on the ground, and they are actively responding to this ongoing and developing disaster.

A catastrophe of this size and magnitude will require UMCOR to be there for the long-term as UMC conferences address the urgent needs of those affected. UMCOR will be with them every step of the way.  Your gift today will be immediately put to work through UMCOR to help those who are currently facing crises in their lives, not just from Hurricane Harvey, but any additional needs as the hurricane season continues.  Our Loose Change and Mission Offerings this month will go to support this vital work.  Checks may be made payable to Roberts Park UMC with “UMCOR” or “Hurricane Relief” in the memo line.  You may also give online through PayPal. Thank you for your prayers and support.
