Learn more about the ways in which we are using technology, social media, and virtual spaces for ministry. In 2021, Roberts Park UMC celebrated 200 years in ministry. In 2022, we begin our next 200 years, recognizing more and more that we are being called to utilizing the internet and all its gifts as an extension of our ministry.

Self-Guided Study

Ten years ago, Bob Goff released the well-loved book Love Does. Pastrix Carmen has developed a Facebook-based online study participants can complete at their own pace. Participants are invited to comment on the photos and videos and to chat with others who are also going through the study. The study starts Tuesday, July 5th and can be completed in approximately six weeks.  On Tuesday, August 30th, we will convene a "Love Does Reunion," where all who participated in any capacity are invited to chat about their experiences. You can start this study at any time during the months of July and August!

Technology @RobertsParkUMC

When Covid-19 hit in 2020, Roberts Park started a long run of technology updates to keep up with the changing times. With the lockdowns, we purchased new camera, audio, and lighting equipment and started pre-recording our worship services. These services streamed on Facebook and Youtube on Sunday morning. We then began a comprehensive update of our live-streaming equipment to anticipate going back to live worship. Starting with Easter, our first in person worship service, we started live-streaming our services. We have added new speakers, a modern sound console, robotic cameras, a live streaming computer, new microphones, and brand new lighting equipment.

With our dedicated tech team, we offer all of our worship services livestreamed online and on demand. Check out our previous services here: RPUMC Video Archives
